2005 ANNUAL MEETING

September 15-16, 2005
Museum of History and Industry
Seattle, WA

Agenda | Program | Registration | Sponsors

I invite you to join with your colleagues to attend the 3rd annual combined Seattle Surgical Society annual meeting and the University of Washington Department of Surgery’s Harkins Resident Symposium on September 15–16, 2005 at the Museum of History and Industry. This has been very successful and well-attended in previous years, and this year's program, crafted by co-Program Chairs Dana Lynge and Steve Counter, promises again to be an outstanding event. Our guest speakers are Dr. Ira J. Kodner, Solon & Bettie Gershman Professor of Surgery, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, who is also the Director of the Center for the Study of Ethics and Human Values at Washington University; and Dr. Richard J. Finley, Professor and Head of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Finley will also give the 56th Annual Alfred J. Strauss Lecture at the University of Washington on Friday afternoon.

New features of this year's meeting include a symposium on Surgical Ethics, a discussion of current issues in Medical Malpractice, and a symposium on Surgery Overseas. I believe you will find this meeting a delightful blend of didactic presentations, new work, and these special symposia, all with CME certification provided by the American College of Surgeons! Please send in your registration without delay to be sure of a spot!
