Marc Swiontkowski MD
Professor, University of Minnesota Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Adjunct Professor, University of Minnesota School of Public Health
Marc Swiontkowski, MD, is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is the past president of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the American Orthopaedic Association.
In 1979, he received his Medical Degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency training at the University of Washington. After a research fellowship in Switzerland, he joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University. In July 1988 he returned to the University of Washington and in 1989, was promoted to Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and assumed the position of Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery, Harborview Medical Center, Seattle, Washington. From September 1997 through October 2007, he held the position of Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Minnesota. He served as a director of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery from 1996-2006 and on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Medical Specialties from 2002-2006. He was an American Orthopaedic Association North American Traveling Fellow in 1986 and an ABC Traveling Fellow in 1989. He is CEO emeritus of TRIA Orthopaedic Center, Bloomington, MN, and a Professor in the University of Minnesota in the School of Medicine as well as Adjunct Professor in the School of Public Health.
Dr. Swiontkowski is an NIH funded investigator and has published articles in peer review journals on numerous topics including osteomyelitis, fracture treatment, and the assessment of musculoskeletal outcomes. He’s lectured extensively in North America as well as abroad. He served as the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery from 2014-2024.
AFTER-DINNER TALK TELLING STORIES IN THE AGE OF YOUTUBE: A DIGITAL FILMMAKER’S JOURNEY
Nate Houghteling is a filmmaker and the co-founder of Portal A, an award-winning branded and original content company. Since launching Portal A over 15 years ago, he has directed and Executive Produced a wide variety of projects – from high-profile branded campaigns to award-winning YouTube series to feature films – all geared towards galvanizing a new generation of viewers. His latest film on the housing affordability crisis, Fault Lines, will debut at the Big Sky Film Festival next month.

Dena Rigby
Art Advisor
Dena Rigby is an Art Advisor and Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA), specializing in Post-War, Modern, Contemporary, and Emerging Art, with a specialty in Modern and Contemporary Glass.
Rigby earned a degree in Art History from the University of Florida. She has completed additional studies in art finance at the Sotheby’s Institute in London and has served on the University of Florida College of Arts Alumni Council, the Seattle Art Museum Supporters executive committee, and was a former board member of the MOCA Contemporaries in Los Angeles. Over the past thirty years, she has managed some of the top artists in the Pacific Northwest, co-owned a private art gallery in Los Angeles, and lead fine art tours for high-level patrons of major museums nationally.
In recent years, Rigby has acted as the art advisor for two new hospitals, the St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale, WA and the Providence-Cedars Sinai Tarzana Medical Center, Tarzana, CA. Currently, she is working on a fourth building for St. Michael Medical Center, while finalizing large advisory projects for South Florida PBS’ new Bailey Cultural Art Center and the Norfolk Botanical Garden, and working with two Fortune 500 companies nationally.
