Coach Lenny Wilkens
Former basketball player and Coach at the NBA

Lenny is an American former basketball player and coach in the National Basketball Association (NBA.) He has been inducted three times into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, first in 1989 as a player, as a coach in 1998, and in 2010 as part of the 1992 United States Olympic "Dream Team," for which he was an assistant coach. In 1996, Wilkens was named to the NBA 50th Anniversary Team, and in 2021 he was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. Lenny is the embodiment of teamwork. As the only person in the history of the NBA to be listed among the top 50 players of all time as well as one of the top 10 coaches, his understanding of how good leadership can help tap limitless potential is second to none.

Along with his wife, Marilyn, their three children, extended family and community of friends, Lenny has raised $8 million in the past decade to help hundreds of families in the Pacific Northwest.

Having watched his widowed mother confront the immense challenges facing his own family in the 1940's, Lenny understands the importance of access and opportunity for children of color and disadvantaged backgrounds. His many subsequent successes have brought much recognition, but for Lenny the real payoff is the opportunity to leverage his influence to help others.  Over its years of existence, the Lenny Wilkens Foundation has raised millions of dollars for Seattle Children’s Odessa Brown Children's Clinic, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Boys and Girls Clubs, Rainier Scholars and countless children in need.
